What do I need to start this PADI Rescue Diver course?
To start the Rescue Diver Course here in Colchester, you should have a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization). You can find details of these scuba diving courses on our PADI Scuba Lessons page. You must also be a minimum age of 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver). Our dive students come from a diverse age background. You must also show proof of a successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months. What will I do during my lesson, dive and course time?
You will receive the PADI rescue diver manual as part of your diver training.
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the Five Open Water sessions, you'll cover many aspects of Rescue scenarios and successfully complete the skills to control them, these include:
• Self-rescue and diver stress
• Dive first aid
• Emergency management and equipment
• Swimming and non-swimming assists
• Panicked diver response
• Underwater problems
• Missing diver procedures
• Surfacing the unconscious diver
• In water artificial respiration
• Egress (exits)
• First aid procedures for pressure related accidents

How long will the Rescue Diver training take at Promed Scuba Diving?
The recommended course study time is 25 hours. The minimum Open Water training dives will consist of five sessions over two days, however this may be extended to help you meet the performance requirements.
What will I need to enable me to get this PADI Certification?
You will need a PADI Rescue Diver manual and Crew-Pak (provided for you in the course cost) and a PADI Rescue Diver video or DVD which is available for you to hire from us.
